The attempt to discern.
The attempt to occupy.
The slide into the darkness,
the drift, the pull,
the resistance, the rage.
The orgiastic release onto the tableaux,
The sublimation, the calm,
The disease, the pursuit,
The glory, the vacuum.
The hint, the sensible,
the non-conforming use,
the fashion, the love,
the kiss, the egg, the end.
Things in extreme, a passion,
an obsession, a caring voyeuristic
denial of the eccentric, the choice
of the commonplace, the eating of beauty,
the cliche and the fear.
The now black ground stirs all of these
and more, and through the dark glass,
the intuition struggles to be free.
Each painting a forward motion,
though seeming random, conjuring from within,
image, picture, obscure and evasive;
each completed in a lucid moment
as the light grows brighter and the way clearer.
